How the Dog Fences Works?
The fence has an electric wire fitted with a transmitter and installed underground all around the borders of your acreage or Pilot Butte SK property. This fence system works by giving out a beeping signal which is received by your dog’s radio collar, each time it (the dog) gets too close to the fence. If your dog continues to ignore the signals, a mild static shock is delivered via its collar to stop it from crossing the fence. However, the shock frequency can be adjusted to limit fear or harm to your dog.
Are Electronic Dog Fences Legal in Pilot Butte SK?
Not one person would ever say that they enjoy throwing money away. However, when consumers decide to make a purchase of significant value without properly researching a product that will assist them with making their purchase decision informed and educated are doing just that...throwing money away. Affordability is important, but selecting an invisible dog fence that best suites your needs, is as equally important. Some may trust the "word of mouth" from a friend, relative or the service associate at your local pet store, but with a little more research you can make sure that you purchase the best invisible dog fence at the lowest price possible. I am sure you will agree that our pets are a "part of the family" and they are well worth a little more effort.
Here are some questions that someone who is searching the market for this particular product should ask themselves: Do I want to purchase a wireless, or wired invisible dog fence? How difficult is it to install? How much wire do I need? Is it a painful way to train my dog? How long will it take my dog to learn their new boundaries? My dog is difficult to train and he has a mean temperament, are there models for difficult temperaments? Are there models that will accommodate more than one dog? Are there models for small dogs? Is this product portable enough to travel? Are training manuals and/or DVD's included with my purchase? Will the transmitter interfere with other electronic devices?
Questions such as these are very important to consider when you make the decision to purchase.. I am pet owner of a large German Shepard. He is a beautiful dog, but he can be very temperamental, as it relates to other dogs and/or animals. As pet owners we must act upon our responsibility to make certain that we never compromise the safety of people, other animals and our pets themselves. An invisible dog fence is one way to assist pet owners trying to accomplish just that. Another way is to install traditional fencing. However, traditional fencing costs thousands of dollars more and why would anyone spend thousands of dollars when it is not necessary....unless you want the traditional fence, of course.
When I was shopping the market for an invisible dog fence for my German Shepard "Crumpet" it was a little overwhelming and confusing with all of the different makes and models. I could not find a website that reviewed the different makes and models. That is when I decided that there was a need for such a review website. So, I invested many hours and performed extensive research. I gathered a ton of reviews from real buyers and users of these products and developed a website that will assist pet owners, who are looking to buy an invisible dog fence with content rich, in-depth reviews that will allow the consumer to feel comfortable knowing that their purchase decision will be informed and educated.
Wireless Dog Fence - Take it With You, and Your Dog Too!
There are a lot of reasons a dog may break his fence boundary. The first thing I would look at is the dog fence collar. Is the battery good, most batteries are good for four months give or take. Some electronic collars malfunction and will start to eat the battery as soon as two days after it has Benn installed.
In the case the dog fence collar is killing the battery you should contact your local office. Most professional pet systems will have a local office. If there is no local office contact the manufacturer. After you verify the underground invisible dog fence has a good battery check the fit. The fence collar should not be loose both metal posts must make contact with the dogs skin. Thick hair may also prevent contact if that is the case you may need to thin the neck area out a little.
OK you have checked all that and the dog escapes. Most underground dog fence systems has two adjustments. First is the signal field adjustment, if this is to small most dogs can run out in many cases with out a correction at all. Most dog fence systems have a short delay and if your fence transmitter is only set up to a two foot signal field it needs to be turned up. I would suggest at least six feet on a average size property of a half acre. If there is two or more acres fenced then there is no reason not to have at least a ten foot signal field.
Next is the underground invisible dog fence receiver. Most fence systems can be adjusted for a stronger correction. This means a stronger shock and removing the delay. Some containment systems will have a adjustment on the transmitter or the fence receiver itself. See owners manual for your brand they are all a little different. Invisible dog fence brand is not adjustable by the transmitter or on the receiver you will need to have a tech come out or visit the local office.
If the dog is still leaving the containment area after these adjustments find out where. Most dogs will leave the fence area in the same spot, the driveway is the common. I have found that a tie out in the area where your dog is leaving is very affective. For a period of about two weeks tie the dog out with the fence receiver on. Leave the slack in the tie out long enough to almost get out of the containment area but not all the way out. I know you got the fence so you don't have to use a tie out but a couple of weeks of this is what I have found to be the most affective to break the dogs bad habit and keep your pet at home.
