How the Dog Fences Works?

The fence has an electric wire fitted with a transmitter and installed underground all around the borders of your acreage or Redwater AB property. This fence system works by giving out a beeping signal which is received by your dog’s radio collar, each time it (the dog) gets too close to the fence. If your dog continues to ignore the signals, a mild static shock is delivered via its collar to stop it from crossing the fence. However, the shock frequency can be adjusted to limit fear or harm to your dog.

Are Electronic Dog Fences Legal in Redwater AB?

Keeping your dog on your property where it belongs generally means building a fence. This is an expensive investment in your dog and property. If you live in a urban or suburban setting most likely you will have to apply for expensive building permits. However if you love your dog, have spent money and resources in training it may be good investment. Letting your dog out in the yard and knowing her will be there when come to let him in the house gives you peace of mind. As an alternative you can install a dog electric fence that is designed to keep your best friend at home without all the expense of a physical fence.

All electric dog fences use a buried wire that is located along the outside of the area that you want to confine your dog to. This buried wire acts as an antennae that is attached to the fences base unit or transmitter. The transmitter produces radio frequency that are picked up by the receiver on the dogs collar. There are two different dog electric fence designs. Electric dog fences that use electric stimulation work by giving your dog a warning tone as it approaches the location of the buried wire. If the dog continues to approach the buried wire it will receive an electronic correction. A second type dog electric fence also uses a warning tone as the dog approaches the wired but then uses a spray of citronella to correct the dog. In either case your dog will have to be trained to properly interact with the electric fence.

Your dog will need to be conditioned and trained before the dog electric fences become effective at keeping your dog safe at home. This training normally takes about 30 days to accomplish if your train your dog for about 45 minutes each day. Depending on the personality of your dog it may even take longer to complete this critical training. Electric dog fences do not always work with every dog. It should be noted that the fence systems that use the citronella spray have a much higher failure rate compared to those that use an electronic correction. In addition a dog can also condition themselves to the correction of both systems by quickly running through the correction zone of the fence. It is critical that the initial training be done thoroughly or your investment into the electric dog fence will be wasted.

Dog electric fences are obviously not as effective as a physical fence at protecting your dog and keeping it where it belongs. In addition even if your dog is restrained by the electric dog fence it does not keep stray dogs or other animals from entering the containment area and attacking your dog. A few years back a timber wolf killed a friends black Labrador retriever in Northern Michigan while it was controlled by a dog electric fence. Obviously a physical fence would have done a better job of protecting his prize hunting dog. Never the less electric dog fences are very popular with many dog owners.

Considering using an electric dog fence to contain your dog? Keeping your dog on your property where it belongs generally means building a fence. An electric dog fence may be a good alternative.

Is a Wireless Dog Fence Right For Your Dog?

Wireless Electric Fence

Pet owners are constantly looking out for the safety of their dogs as well as the people who are around their dogs. We all know how important it is to keep your dog from running away, biting the neighbor, or digging up along your fencing area. Luckily, with today's advanced technology, inventors have been able to come up with wireless dog fencing. If you have a pet and still don't know what this is, you are really missing out. Imagine, every time your dog decides to tear up the outer edges of your fence area - they will receive a mild shock. Now, this isn't hurtful to your dog because the intensity of the shock is very low. Of course he won't get shocked constantly once he has passed the "red" area. This is the perfect way to keep your dog inside without having to call or yell at your dog every few days. Wireless dog fencing is definitely a time saver and will allow your dog the proper freedom in only your backyard or house area.

Installing a wireless fencing system is very simple and requires no ground wiring like other fences do. Your only job is to set it up and get everything going. After, you will need to put the receiver collar around your dog. This is used to track where your dog is and if he's too close to the fence area. Every time your dog attempts to get past the fence or dig very close in that area, they'll get a quick and non painful shock. These shocks are small, only enough to startle them to not come back. After awhile, your dog will avoid the fence area.

Wireless dog fencing is the most reasonable type of containment available. You won't need to run outside to cover up the dog hole that was dug. Also, in the case you need to go near the fence area to make a few adjustments - it won't shock you either. This is safe for humans, kids, and other animals. The only animal who would be shocked is your dog - or whoever is wearing the receiving collar. With the older electric fences, shock would occur without a collar and this was very dangerous to younger children. Overall, this is the perfect dog fencing.
